Partnering with Haddington Dynamics at MMAARS mission 1126, we completed a successful test of remote control of a robotic arm to hand pieces to onsight medical personnel. This test took place with the operator over 100 miles away and happened over standard 4G cell network. This paves the way for AvatarMEDIC to work more closely with Haddington Dynamics as a technology partner.‍

Developing AR solution for First Responders, in the midst of record-breaking season of wildfires across the West, was an intense experience. We are extremely appreciative of Cal Fire Staff and Fire Scientists in Montana for collaborating with us during this project. We learned so much and firsthand recognize the extraordinary efforts the emergency response teams have been putting in for protecting lives, homes, and land. Thanks to NIST PSCR CHARIOT Challenge, we focused on a cutting-edge AR UI design for public safety use.

The first ANA Avatar XPRIZE Team Summit was held in conjunction with the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland on May 27-29. This was the first in-person gathering of the Avatar XPRIZE teams, who met with the XPRIZE operations team, our sponsor, ANA, and our competition partners. The team summit ignited many productive conversations between teams and partners, and marked the beginning of the next stage of the competition.

The $10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE is a four-year global competition focused on the development of an Avatar System that will transport a human’s sense, actions, and presence to a remote location in real time, leading to a more connected world.
